Lasers are most effective when hair is at an early growth stage. Because not all hairs will be at the same stage of growth at the same time, you'll need multiple treatments to permanently remove unwanted hair.

How the area looks afterwards varies from person to person, depending on skin and hair type. You may have some redness and swelling around hair follicles straight after — this is only a response to the treatment. In the following weeks, some hairs will shed from the treated area. You will notice less hair growth as you progress through the course of treatments.

LightSheer® is generally suitable for all skin tones and for all areas and types of hair. However, it is not suitable if you have an active infection or inflammation, viral, fungal or bacterial disease, an active cold sore, or an open wound in the area to be treated. Risks may include changes to skin pigmentation and texture or burns. Always speak to your treatment provider, who'll be able to help you decide whether it's right for you.

• Shaving or cutting is the only hair removal to be used prior to treatment.
• Do not use bleach or depilatory cream for at least 2–3 weeks before your first treatment.
• No waxing, plucking or threading at least 1 month prior to your treatment.
• You must shave the area to be treated 24 hours before your laser treatment.
• Do not exfoliate the area 2–3 days before and after treatment.
• Laser treatment cannot be done if you have false tan or a natural tan in the past 4 weeks.
• You must use SPF 30 on all areas being treated when exposed to daylight.
• No lotions or oils should be used on the area on the day of treatment.
• NB: Consultation form must be completed prior to and for each laser visit.

• Please shave 24 hours prior to your treatment. Shaving the same day may leave skin more irritated.
• Urban Day Spa cannot be responsible for shaving — this is the client's responsibility. We cannot proceed if the area is not prepared.
• Always inform your laser therapist of any change in medication before treatment begins.
• Please ensure fake tan has been removed for a minimum of 21 days prior to treatment.

• The treated area may be red and swollen for 1–7 days.
• Avoid tight-fitted clothing on the treated area to avoid further irritation.
• Sun exposure on the area should be avoided for the duration of treatments.
• Repechage Sea Salt Glow can be used between treatments — not until 8 days post treatment.

For the next 24–48 hours, avoid:

• Hot showers or baths — tepid water only
• Heat treatments such as sauna, Jacuzzi or steam rooms
• Excessive sweating or workouts
• Deodorants, perfumed or scented body lotions
• Swimming in chlorinated water
• Tight clothing
